Again the disclaimer: We got off cheap. This is no Lakeview or Slidell, this is no Gulfport or Biloxi or Diamondhead... this is Miami with an untouched house and some relandscaping to do and a wait for the power to come on... But this is what you do as a foodie when this:
You whip out your old deep-fried turkey burner, your tank of propane and the grate from a part of your parrilla grill.
And you try and create one pot meals that will fill up the family AND conserve that precious propane because you don't know how long you're going to be without power.
Here's some sauteed garlic in olive oil and a little Pinot Grigio for the reduction. The neighbors were smelling this and knocking at the door!
And here is what that reduction got added to it, pasta (boiled in a separate pot) and some good old fashioned marinara sauce.
