Thanks to my father for the link. A fantastic article by Marcella Hazan in the Opinion section of the NYT HERE. I am very happy to be in that group of "family cooks" not "chefs" who simply love what they do and loves to celebrate the intrinsic nurturing that occurs "a Tavola". That doesn't mean ANYTHING coming from a guy who is an insurance agent by day, but it means a TON coming from an eminence like Marcella Hazan.

I love that I've come from a group of family cooks too. My mom was more about what she could magically throw together on a tiny budget to keep us happy and well-fed. She'd love your Mexican lasagna dish! (me too, actually)
